Turned Leg Dresser in Cherry (Item #1592)
Turned Leg Dresser in Cherry (Item #1592)
Every European kitchen since the early days of furniture had a "Dresser" - shelf above for dishes and bowls, which were pewter before 'China' was used, space below (the 'Pot Board') for cooking pans, and the counter area above drawers. This surface was used to cut or 'dress' meat and fowl for cooking. Later, of course, the Dresser, thought by many to have originated in Wales, was seen in sophisticated homes all over.
